When the Hermann Tietz department store opened its doors on 24 April 1912, it was already known all over town. The previous Tietz store had excited the people of Hamburg with its bright splendour and wide range of products. Its high standards of quality were to endure way beyond 1936, the year in which it was given the name Alsterhaus.

Today, Alsterhaus in Hamburg covers 24,000 square metres in an exclusive atmosphere comprising a historic structure and modern interior design and in the course of the renovation work started in 2016, is once again taking on a radical new structure. As ever, guests from near and far are presented with a proven blend of designer fashion, beauty and top products for home and further afield.

In the course of the renovation, designed by Kleihues & Kleihues, and initiated in 2016, the Luxury Hall on the Ground Floor has been restored to its former glory. The Atrium hosts the best selection of brands since the Alsterhaus first opened more than 100 years ago: bags and accessories from international designer brands, as well as watches, jewellery and gift shopping symbolise the inclusion of modern luxury at this long-established store.  The interior of the Accessories Hall was designed by Sebastian Herkner, whose name is synonymous with contemporary design art. His creations exemplify not least the fact that shopping also includes an aesthetic experience in keeping with the times.

The Fourth Floor is a magnet for curious and discerning connoisseurs. Be it for a brief break from shopping at More than Champagne bar, a visit to Hamburg’s “Burgermeister”, Billy the Butcher or a dinner at Japanese restaurant, Yoshi, with a view of the Binnenalster: The Alsterhaus Food World offer something for everyone – from the traditional to the exclusive.

You can make use of other services like personal shopping, the chauffeur and limousine service, the alteration studio and our beauty lounges at our department store. Alsterhaus is a piece of Hamburg – since more than a century ago and into the future.

Mi chalet

Unique ambiance in the elegant Mi Chalet.

The modern and sustainable architecture combined with the high-quality interior design characterize the first-class atmosphere of this luxury chalet in Alta Badia.

Once the architect Karl Heinz Castlunger saw where the new Chalet could be located he knew that the hill overlooking the mountains was ideal for one specific house form. Drawing and planning the house came to the architect naturally. The surrounding nature inspired the architect and owner to build an eco-friendly “Clima House A” that would convey a feeling of comfort and serenity.
His wife, the interior decorator Antjesusann Castlunger had fallen in love with the white peluche-covered signature chair before the completion of the project and thus used its style and color as a source of inspiration for the overall design. Locally sourced wood, calm colors and simple elegance characterize the interior of the Mi Chalet. The light flooded panorama windows and the extraordinary form of the Chalet give the house a timeless yet traditional and cozy feel.

COLETIA in Hangzhou

The COLETIA Concept Store and which is located in Hangzhou, the city is
considered the pearl of China, because it is very well preserved and refined.

The idea was to work only in the field of decoration
and accessories, with Houses and European designers. At
meeting with know-how, stories and especially
original and quality products.
